The Backroom Clerk at Sam's Club is responsible for the management of the backroom area of the store. He/she must make certain that the incoming merchandise is received, sorted, and stored correctly. Moreover, the Backroom Clerk assists the front-end associates in their duties to ensure that the store runs smoothly.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

• Accept and handle merchandise shipments by unloading and organizing them in the backroom.
• It is important to closely inspect and confirm goods to ensure they are accurate, of high quality, and free from any damage to maintain an outstanding consumer experience.
• Store inventory in assigned spaces in a manner that optimizes space utilization and accessibility.

Stock Replenishment:

• Efficiently sort and move products in preparation for stocking on the sales floor by carefully organizing and transporting items to their designated areas.
• Ensure that the sales area is equipped with adequate inventory levels to meet customer needs.
• Support the store staff in managing inventory and keeping product displays neat and tidy.

Backroom Maintenance:

• To ensure a healthy and safe working environment, it is necessary to maintain cleanliness, tidiness, and safety in the backroom area.
• In order to avoid accidents and injuries, it is important to follow strict safety procedures and guidelines.
• Dispose of the waste and maintain the tidiness of the backroom area to avoid any hazards.

Order Processing:

• Implement a well-organized and systematic approach to manage the inventory system in the backroom and track the availability of all products.
• Plan and implement an efficient system to process and prepare the merchandise accurately and promptly for special orders and customer demands.
• Perform accurate stock counts and maintain a steady inventory system.

Team Support:

• Liaison with retail personnel to develop efficient protocols for an integrated system between the warehouse and the storefront.
• Be a team player and offer your assistance to other team members by diving into special projects or tasks and helping them complete them on time.

Compliance:

• Keeping in line with the policies, procedures, and safety standards of the company is necessary.
• Make sure to report any issues or discrepancies to management without delay.

Qualifications:

Education: Having a high school diploma or its equivalent would be advantageous for anyone interested in this opportunity.

Experience: Although not obligatory, a background in a warehouse or retail place of employment may be useful.

Skills:

• Aptitude to utilize warehouse machinery, e.g. pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Being highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven track record of achieving remarkable results.
• Skilled at working collaboratively with others and effectively communicating.
• Having the requisite physical strength to shift and relocate products is crucial.

Work Environment:
